Building Resilience
Why do some people who face really difficult times, seem to not struggle and are even embracing the challenge, and yet others cannot get their confidence back after a layoff or they crawl into their shell when reprimanded by a supervisor.
Academic research shows repeatedly that a certain quality of resilience plays a greater role in mental health than anyone previously suspected. According to the Adaptive Learning System, who develops programs about resilience “More than education, more than experience, more than training, a person’s level of resilience will determine who succeeds and who fails.
Although some people have natural more resilience than others, the good news is, resilience is a skill, and can therefore be learned and developed.
